22A- Elevator Pitch 3

Link:   https://youtu.be/HmKPAgizeno Reflection: I had only one comment on my second elevator pitch, and in the comment he said that the camera angle was awkward and to fix it. However, he said that the content of the pitch was good and that I didn't need to change anything else. However, in the social capital assignment, I had two more people watch my elevator pitch as well and one of the things they both stressed was taking a small pause to to add significance. Changes:  Based on my these suggestions, I fixed the camera angle so that it was no longer awkward as one of the comments suggested, and I also reorganized the pitch a little to improve flow, as well as adding some additional pauses for effect. I definitely felt like the speech was well rehearsed at this point, and I knew how to deliver the information way better on the third try.

21a- Reading Reflection No. 2

Reading Reflection 2- How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still win Big, by Scott Adams 1)       What is the general theme or argument of the book? The general theme of this book is that goals never truly lead to success, so one must focus on systems that are developed and proven to work instead. The book is written by Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert Cartoons, and he highlights the tremendous number of failures that he has dealt with in his life before finally striking success. 2)       How did the book connect with or enhance what you are learning in ENT3003? This book seemed to be very in line with what we are learning in Principles of Entrepreneurship. The process of entrepreneurship itself has failure pretty much built into it, and Scott Adams reiterates time after time how much one will fail  before finally being able to achieve success. This idea definitely fits into what Dr. Pryor teaches in lecture, and a...

20a- Growing Social Capital

Growing Social Capital 1)       Domain Expert:          I.             The Domain Expert I have chosen is named Sunny Ilyas, he is the founder and CEO of Vale Food Co. one of the most well renowned healthy food options here in Gainesville, and has expanded operations to Tampa, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Fort Lauderdale as well. He grew up in Florida, and has always been an avid supporter of working out and being healthy, and decided while in college to make his passion into his job, and thus opened up Vale Food Co. and has had smashing success.        II.             Sunny Ilyas is the Domain Expert, as he is engaged in almost the exact same industry my venture would be in, and his restaurant is part of what inspired me in the first place. He fits the role of Domain Ex...

Idea Napkin No. 2

Idea Napkin No. 2 1)        My name is Jake Piotrowski. I am a fourth year Biochemistry student with a minor in Business Administration. I have always been drawn to science and chemistry, the study basically tells us how the world around us works, and thus I’ve always found myself coming back to it. I have always found myself engulfed in academia, and for this reason I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout college so far and I plan on graduating with it. However, the whole medical school vibe and high stress life has never been something I could see myself doing, so instead I am pursuing a Masters in Biomedical Engineering, which will hopefully provide me with enough disposable income to make some smart investments and avoid working till I am 65 and retire. Since Idea Napkin No.1, I have learned a lot more about myself. I have been battling an existential crisis for much of the semester as to what I plan on doing with myself come graduati...

17A- Elevator Pitch #2

Link :  https://youtu.be/TuX2tk3PP9I Reflection: I had only one comment on my first elevator pitch, and in the comment I wasn't really given feedback that could be used to improve my pitch, so it honestly didn’t help at all. With that being said, I had my girlfriend (who has already taken this class and knows how to write an elevator pitch) look over my pitch and she suggested editing some of the content to make it flow better, and also to change the camera angle and position so its easier to hear in the recording. Changes: Based on my girlfriend’s suggestions, I reorganized the pitch a little bit so that it would flow better, and I also made sure to record it with a different camera angle which should have fixed the sound issues and video quality this time around. (Which I definitely feel it did!)

My prototypical customer is shown above. His name is James and is a 22 year old Business Finance major studying at the University of Florida. He is extremely interested in school, and makes sure he excels in his classes to prepare himself for a future beyond school. However, that does not mean he lacks a social life. He is known by many students on campus, and he is often found with a blue slushee in his hand at Fat Daddy's. He has many hobbies, including basketball and golf. His true passion however, is lifting weights and being healthy. He cannot walk into Southwest Recreation without seeing at least five people he knows, and he makes it known that he is there to better himself. He is not one of those hard-o gym rats,  but he spends at least 2 hours on his workout, often accompanied by his girlfriend. Both enjoy being healthy and fit, and they are there to push each other to be better. She exemplifies many of the things he holds in high regard, and as crazy as it is he has fa...

16A- Secret Sauce

My Secret Sauce  1)       What human capital do you possess that you feel makes you unique? ·        Perfectionism: Ever since I was a kid, I have been extremely particular about certain aspects of my life. The most important of that being my attitude towards making a name for myself. I have always wanted to grow up to be successful, so that I could branch out and see a world that many people do not have the opportunity to see. I put all of my effort into ensuring that things are done exactly the way I want them to. ·        Attitude towards Academia: Even since elementary school, I had valued the importance of acquiring knowledge and appreciating the process of learning. I have always felt that one of the most important aspects of life is using knowledge to grow as a person, if you never feel the need to learn how can you expect to get better at something. This is the philosophy I hav...
